Parent Completes Online Admission

Parents can apply for their child’s admission using the online application developed by Qatar Foundation. Parents are to include copies of their child’s passport, immunization card, all previous medical and assessment documentation whilst completing the application process. These applications will be reviewed by an admissions team, which includes an Admissions Officer, Speech-Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, and School Psychologist.

Screening Interview and Child Observation

If the child meets minimum criteria on the application, the parents will be contacted to attend a screening session. Please note that this is not an assessment. During that time, parents will meet with a staff member so they can provide further information regarding their child’s skills while the child is provided an opportunity to play and interact with the specialists. Observational data of the child will be gathered by staff during this time.

Decision

Once observations and interviews are completed, the admissions team will meet and determine if there is enough evidence that the child will benefit from the program provided at Renad Academy. Children falling in the mild-moderate range of Autism and who have displayed the prerequisite skills to learn utilizing evidence-based approach (e.g. Applied Behavior Analysis) and visual systems (e.g. TEACCH) will be selected for admission. Parents will then be contacted so we can share the results from the screening and the status of their child for entry (admitted, on waiting list, or not admitted). A clinical diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder by a physician is required.

Home Visit

If the child is accepted as a student at Renad Academy then an Autism Specialist staff member will contact the child’s family to arrange a home visit. At this home visit, more detailed information is gathered from the child’s parents. The teacher begins to establish a relationship with the student, and parent’s questions are answered. A school tour is arranged for the parent and child to visit Renad Academy prior to the child joining the school.

Withdrawal Process for QF Schools

To begin withdrawing a student from a QF school, the parent/guardian is requested to submit an online withdrawal form (click here). The school will process the request within three working days.

Please note that the parent/guardian and the student will be invited to attend an exit interview meeting with the school director to discuss the withdrawal. The parent/guardian and the student are required to attend this meeting to complete the formal process.
